CHILD DIES IN OVERNIGHT CARTERSVILLE HOUSE FIRE
CARTERSVILLE, Ga - Cartersville Fire Department, the Georgia State Fire Marshals Office, and the Bartow County Medical Examiner & Coroner’s Office are working together to determine the cause of an overnight house fire.
Cartersville Fire Department received the emergency call at approximately 3:00am, for a structure fire located at 9 Galway Drive.
Upon arrival, the structure was found significantly involved. It took more than 20 Firefighters to bring the fire under control, after battling flames for several hours using multiple pieces of equipment.
There were four individuals at home, during the time of the fire. Three made it out of the home. A 10-year-old male was pronounced dead on scene.
At this time, the fire is under investigation.
