Gary Fox, Ward 5

Gary Fox is a lifelong resident of Cartersville. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has been in private practice in Cartersville, since 2011. Prior to that, he was with Bartow County Bank for 29 years, a community bank headquartered in Cartersville. 

He is passionate about the City's Parks and Trails, as well as downtown Cartersville. He strongly supports historic preservation and protecting our residential neighborhoods. He also supports city ordinances and building code standards that encourage renovation and renewal in our older residential neighborhoods. In addition, he is a proponent of creating transportation alternatives to deal with traffic issues. 

Gary is a 1976 graduate of Cartersville High School and a 1980 graduate of the University of Georgia. He has been married to Liz Fox since 1982. Liz works for Advocates for Bartow’s Children, as a CASA volunteer coordinator. They have three grown children, Nathan, a police officer for the City of San Antonio, Texas; Sarah, an Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University in the Human Computer Interaction Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Anna, the Senior Division Administrator at the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Childrens' Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
