JOB TITLE:  Tennis/Pickleball Court Attendant

DEPARTMENT:  Parks & Recreation, City of Cartersville

 

JOB SUMMARY:  This part-time position is responsible for reserving tennis/pickleball courts for play, collecting and monitoring courts. Other responsibilities will include answering telephone, assisting department in tournaments and clinic.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Reserving Tennis/pickleball Courts for play
  • Monitoring Tennis/pickleball Courts
  • Answering Phone
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor

 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:

  • Knowledge tennis/pickleball rules preferred
  • Knowledge of departmental and safety rules and regulations.
  • Skill in following instructions.
  • Skills in oral and written communication.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be at least 16 years old and have a valid Georgia Driver’s License
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to have a work evening and weekend hours
     

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:  The Tennis/pickleball Supervisor assigns work in terms of somewhat general instructions.  The supervisor checks completed work for compliance with instructions and established procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.

GUIDELINES:  Guidelines include departmental and safety policies and procedures, material safety data sheets, standard maintenance practices, and supervisory instructions.  These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application.

COMPLEXITY:  The work consists of related duties in administration of the tennis/pickleball program.

SCOPE AND EFFECT:  The purpose of this position is to perform basic administration duties.  Successful performance helps ensure a safe and comfortable environment for departmental activities.

PERSONAL CONTACTS:  Contacts are typically with co-workers, other city employees, program participants, and the general public.

PURPOSE OF CONTACTS:  Contacts are typically to exchange information and provide services.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The work is performed while sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, or crouching.  The employee must lift objects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  The work is performed indoors and outdoors, where the employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, and occasional inclement weather.
