The City of Cartersville is excited to announce significant progress on the new City Hall project, aimed at revitalizing and enhancing the heart of our community.

At a recent council meeting, Croft & Associates presented a conceptual site plan for the new City Hall campus, which includes innovative features designed to preserve the city’s rich history while meeting modern community needs. The project focuses on revitalizing the block currently occupied by City Hall, the City Office Building, and the building at 19 N Erwin Street, which has served as City Hall, a fire station, and more. Key highlights of the plan include:

  • Preservation of the historic facade of the old City Hall/Fire Station building, which will include a picnic area. This area will showcase historic photos and facts, allowing citizens to engage with the building’s storied past.

  • Overhauling and opening up the entire block currently housing City Hall, the City Manager’s office building, and the fire station to create a beautiful, dynamic, community-minded space. The redesigned layout aims to enhance pedestrian traffic flow downtown and create inviting green spaces and natural beauty for the community and staff to enjoy.

  • The transformed city block will feature a new City Hall building, seamlessly integrated with the historic facade of the former City Hall and fire station. It will accommodate multiple city departments, Municipal Court, and City Council chambers. Additionally, the campus will include a renovated City office building and improved parking facilities.

“This project marks a significant milestone for Cartersville,” said Dan Porta, City Manager. “We are not only preserving our heritage but also building a modern, functional space that will serve our community for generations to come.”

The new City Hall campus promises to be a hub of activity and a source of civic pride, reflecting Cartersville’s commitment to progress and community engagement.
